LOCATION:  At Serengeti National Park, in Northern Tanzania. The distance from Arusha is about 385 Kms from Arusha, 205 Kms from Manyara, 175 Kms from Ngorongoro and 30 Kms from Seronera Airstrip serviced by scheduled flights twice daily from Arusha via Lake Manyara.

 

DESCRIPTION:  Serengeti Serena is set high on a hill with breathtaking views of the grasslands and wilderness landscape of Mbingwe Valley and Serengeti plains. The Serengeti is a natural paradise and home to one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth - the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle and big game feed in full view of the lodge. The lodge's design is simple, stunning and the architecture/design is inspired by a traditional African village, separate rondavel "huts" serving as luxury guest rooms, with own view of the plains. The lodge is rich in local atmosphere created by indigenous handicrafts and art and the use of naturally occurring materials and indigenous designs. A water spring runs through the main public areas, creating a natural source of numerous plants, and provides a home to many indigenous species of reptiles, amphibians and birds.

Room décor: All rooms have a private balcony overlooking the Mbingwe Valley.  The uniquely crafted grass-roofed rooms are made local materials that blend with their surroundings.

FOOD & BEVERAGE FACILITIES:

Walking to the dining room and bar area of the Lodge, guests pass through open corridors with rich African carvings and high roofs. Dining room Lounge has a capacity of 60 and 30 on the outside Restaurant. The bar is adjacent to the dining room.

The full-service lounge and bar serves fresh fruit juices, soft drinks, tea and coffee, cocktails, wines, spirits and liqueurs.

CLIMATE: The temperature is comfortably hot during the day, nights can be chilly. Rains occur between November and May, the heaviest rainfall is normally in April. June to October are dry and windy. September and October are much drier before the November rains.
