DESCRIPTION:
It is a very stylish small camp consisting of a main
lodge and ten rock and thatch cottages (rondavels),
with rich wooden floors and classic interiors.
Klein’s Camp got its name
from the American big game hunter “Al Klein” who
used to hunt in this area, and built this Camp in
1926 next to a fresh water spring on the western
shoulder of the Mogogwe Hill. With the panoramic
views of the Grumeti River valley below, the Kuka
Hills to the East and bordered to the north by the
Masai Mara and to the west by the Serengeti, Klein’s
Camp is one of the most strategically placed
wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The camp
has a central sitting room and bar which shares the
fabulous views. A vast sofa has cushions and throws
in raw silks, soft chenilles and zebra hide. A
magnificent leather ottoman, beaded in the Masai
style, serves as a coffee table and supports piles
of wildlife books and a bao set for playing this
very addictive African board game.
