Mapenzi Beach Club

Mapenzi Beach Club perfectly blends in the natural environment of the surrounding landscape covering an area of 4 hectares blessed with a long white sand beach and a tropical garden of palms and colourful bougainvillea. Built in traditional Zanzibari style, with a huge thatched makuti (palm-thatch) roof and coral walls, Mapenzi Beach Club is quite an impressive sight when you enter for the first time. The gardens are lush, full of tall palm trees and vibrant bougainvillea. The rooms are very comfortable and the food is absolutely fantastic.

Location:

Set on the East Coast of Zanzibar, about 45 km. from the airport.

Climate:

Tropical hot and humid with an average temperature of 20ºC. Rainy month is April and May. July to October has an average temperature is 25ºC and the humidity is low with cool nights. November to March have short rains and is VERY hot and humid.

Number of Rooms:

The 87 spacious and comfortable bungalows including 27 standard rooms, 30 sea front rooms and 30 garden view rooms.

ROOM DCOR: Charmingly furnished in the traditional East African style. A nice veranda in front of each bungalow offers the perfect place to indulge in a moment of laziness and relax. Most rooms have a view of the ocean, except those overlooking the attractive gardens. If you want to be right on the beach, we suggest booking a seafront cottage.

ROOM AMENITIES: Mosquito nets are provided over the beds and every room is fitted with individual air conditioning system, ceiling fan, telephone for internal use, hairdryer, fridge, safe deposit box and a nice veranda in front of each bungalow

Food & Drink

  • All inclusive at the Main Restaurant: Breakfast from 7:30am to 10:00am, Lunch from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Dinner from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
  • Nakupenda Pizzeria: Open between 8.00pm to 10.00pm. Set directly on the beach. Included in the all inclusive once in a week.
  • Suli Suli Beach Restaurant (by charge): Open everyday for lunch and dinner
  • Pool Bar: Open between 10:00am and 1:00pm serves snacks, soft drinks, fruit juices, beer, house wine,
  • tea and coffee. Between 6:00pm and 1:00am spirits and long drinks are also served.
  • Beach Bar: open between 10:00am and 6:00pm, serves snacks, soft drinks, fruit juices, beer, house wines, tea and coffee
