The Ngorongoro Farm House is a small and exclusive lodge facing the Oldeani Volcano at the foot of Ngorongoro Crater.. The 500 acre working farm on the slopes of the crater features a 6 acre organic vegetable garden which not only supplies the lodge, but many other lodges and mobile camp operations throughout northern Tanzania. The enormous crater functions as an ecosystem unto itself. High escarpments, defining the border of the crater, and plentiful water liberate the over 25,000 wildebeest and zebra from the migration that their cousins from the Serengeti endure.
LOCATION: The Ngorongoro Farm House is located in the Ngorongoro Highlands; the farm is only minutes (1km) from the Ngorongoro Crater entrance gate. Ngorongoro Farm House is located only 4kms from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Lolduare gate.
CLIMATE: Tropical climate with high humidity levels. Rains during May/July and October/November.
NUMBER OF ROOMS: Ngorongoro Farm House consist of 40 bungalow rooms.
Room amenities: Each bungalow consists of 80 sq meters which includes a private veranda facing the Rift Valley with an en suite bathroom, flush toilet and shower. Some of the bungalows are interconnected rooms special for family including small children.
FOOD & BEVERAGE FACILITIES: The farm House has two dining areas. Enjoy fresh roasted coffee from the on site 15 acre coffee plantation. The farm also has home grown pigs, free range chickens, ducks, rabbit, lamb and milk cows. These fresh foods are combined with the fish imported from the coast enabling the house to serve abundant, fresh, organic cuisine.
CONFERENCE FACILITIES: conference room available with all facilities.
RECREATIONAL FACILITIES: facilities include a swimming pool, Walking and overnight trekking foot safaris in the area of Lake Eyasi and have plans to offer horseback riding can be organized. The huge main building covered with an elegant thatched roof , contain the reception, bar dining area, library and a lounge with a fireplace where guests can enjoy a rest during the everning inthe highlands.
