Ngong House
Situated only 20 minutes from downtown Nairobi, it is luxurious, romantic and fun and gives the impression that you are way out in the African Bush. Guests stay in wooden treehouses facing the distinctive knuckle-shaped Ngong Hills. The four thatched treehouses are well-spaced and hidden from each other by natural bush. You enter by climbing up wooden steps and through a big "trapdoor.The treehouses are named for the four points on the compass and each has a different decorative theme. For example, "East" has furniture from Bali including a huge four-poster bed with carved headboard.
Hotel Details
These are four double-storied treehouses, with superb attention to detail and every comfort imaginable. There are stained-glass windows, a fully stocked bar, brass showerheads, comfy couches, kilims and saddlebags, hand-made furniture and lamps. One of the treehouses is lower and requires less climbing
Recreational Facilities
- Guest have use of the expansive (10 acre) grounds, including the swimming pool.
- At night, guests arrive to campfire and safari chairs under a huge fever tree.
- The Giraffe Centre is only a 10-minute walk away and a four-wheel drive vehicle is available for travel further afield.
- Trips to the Nairobi National Parks, museums, local markets, shops, and galleries can be arranged.
