Kokonut Cottages

Kokonut Cottages is a small resort on the south coast of Kenya offering a special type of holiday away from big hotels, busy beaches and all noisy night discos. This is a Resort which focuses on tranquility, personalized service and complete flexibility whether that is to eat when, and what you would like, or dress as leisurely as you would like. After all, here you are in the Tropics and dressing up for dinner in longs can be a sticky affair, and here you can choose to do as much, or as little, as you like during the day. Though a small Resort, accommodating no more than 20 guests, on offer are all the trimmings of what is really needed to keep you happy. A blazing white beach and sea life to be enjoyed and savored a short walk away through the adjacent forest.

Location

KINONDO beach, 5 Kilometers south of Diani, Mombasa-South Coast. Setup on an un-spoilt area on the coast, distinct in Nature from the rest of the coastline and still has pockets of indigenous forest almost sacred amongst the local communities. The cottages are 10 minutes from pinewood village and 1Hr 30 min from the Mombasa International Airport.

Climate

Warm during the day, evenings can be chilly. But generally the climate at the Kenyan coast is pleasant all the year round, with rains in April and October.

Accommodating no more than 20 guests, they offer two styles of accommodation here. If you are looking for African coastal trendsetting, funkiness, a slightly beatnik decor, Kokonut Cottages is definitely the right place!

 

ROOM DCOR & AMENITIES: 1 bedroom suites: A choice of 4 one bedroom suites offering open plan style bedrooms with shower and bathroom en-suite. With the Lamu ceilings, Swahili floors and Moroccan walls, the interior design soothes moods into relaxation mode. Suites are air-conditioned. Your personal chef will serve your meals of choice on your patio which faces the flow over pool.

 

2 bedroom Cottages: A choice of 2 two bedroom Cottages with living space aplenty. The bedrooms are of Zanzibarian finish with shower located al fresco in your bedroom and toilet and wash basin being en-suite. Theres a private lounge / dining room area where a personal chef will serve you from your attached kitchen. This accommodation affords modern international standard facilities with Old Africa style finishing.

 

Special Feature: This Cottage Resort is for escapists and water sport enthusiasts or sun worshippers - and anyone who enjoys peace, tranquility, and simplicity, with a good touch of personal service rarely found in other facilities on the Kenya Coast. This is a small facility without the fly-buzz of crowds

Food & Drink

Dinners are prepared in your cottage by your personal chef, the kokonut cottages have been reknown for their good food and personalised service, picnics are arranged on the beach which is a 80 meters walk., theres also a barbeque area and sundeck.

General Facilities

Beauty salon: In line with Kokonut's "free mind", personal space and wellbeing policy, relaxation expert Minneh, A resident aromatherapy and reflexology specialist will offer you the opportunity to rid all the office knots and cold weather tensions using Essential Oils. In addition Minneh offers pedicures and manicures.

Recreational Facilities

Water sports: snorkeling on the interesting reefs, take a motorized canoe around the many islands - picnic on the beach, snorkel down the mangroves and try a fun-dive.
