Hemingways has a total of 78 tastefully appointed rooms. 26 Sea view standard twins, 28 Sea view superior twins, 18 Sea view deluxe rooms, 6 Sea view suites 

 

Room Amenities: All Hemingways rooms and suites are extremely comfortable, have ocean views, are within yards of the beach and benefit from 24 hour room service. All have bathrooms with showers en-suite. There is air-conditioning and fans throughout, and rooms also have mosquito nets, personal safes and room fridges.

 

The standard rooms in the original wing of the hotel are close to the beach. They are shaded by palm trees and offer a choice of twin or double beds. Deluxe rooms are located on ground floor of the new wing, offering the easiest of access to the hotel gardens and beach; they have a bath as well as a shower, three single beds and a terrace with table and chairs. Junior Suites are available on all three floors. They have super king-sized beds, large baths, as well as showers and a lounge area.

 

Special Feature: The Five-Star standards of Hemingways, from its renowned cuisine to its special personal service, have earned the hotel recognition as one of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

The restaurant overlooks the Indian Ocean and seats 200 people, with additional seating for 100 on the outside terrace.

 

Hemingways offers a wide range of international styles, ranging from sophisticated recipes with delicate sauces, to simple cooking of the finest ingredients. Table d'hote' menus are a mixture of international and local favorites, with daily vegetarian options.

Serves buffets on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday lunch including Mongolian, Italian and Indian specialties. Live cooking is a major feature including not only main dishes but also pasta and salad stations.

 

 

During the calmer months (December to March), dinner is served on the terrace, with the sounds of the sea, the light of the moon and the stars, and the rustle of the trade winds in the palms for company

Conference Facilities

A purpose built conference facility to accommodate 70 delegates. Perfect for small meetings and 'incentive' groups.

The deep sea fishing centre offers sport fishing in the exciting waters off Watamu. Marlin, sailfish, shark, tuna and other big game fish can be found in plenty. Other water sports including snorkeling, diving, windsurfing and waterskiing are also available. Excursions to local places of interest include Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, a unique stretch of coastal forest with a rich biodiversity, Gedi Ruins, a ruined 12th century town, and other local attractions.
