Palm House is designed around an open courtyard. The living and dining areas look onto the courtyard and another small side garden. It is spacious, yet compact.
Palm House sits between Shela House and the sand dunes and is designed around a central courtyard with a central palm tree.
The sea breezes which are ideal for sailing ensure the island does not get too hot. The annual pattern is: May & June: Some rain most days, intermittent sunshine, cool July & August: Showery, cool and breezy September & October: Mostly dry, warm and sunny November: Generally warm and sunny December - February: Hot and sunny, breezy March & April: Hot and sunny, calm and a little humid.
4 rooms en-suite (2 Double 1 twin 1 Master Bedroom).All rooms are en-suite with private balconies apart from the Master bedroom that has two balconies.
ROOM AMENITIES: You can sleep out under the stars on their rooftop terraces to awake to the sound of cats in the alley and the sun rising over the port. The rooms are spacious and the overall feel of the houses more in-tune with the towns Afro-arab past.
SPECIAL FEATURE: Dhows make regular stops to Shela so it is easy to ride into Lamu or you can walk the shore path and take in the scenery.
Self-catering facility allows clients to supply funds to the house cook, the cooks then do all the shopping and cooking. Menus can be requested and discussed.
